Auburn University’s mission is defined by its land-grant traditions of service and access. The University serves students through its instructional, research and outreach programs and prepares them to respond successfully to the challenges of a global economy. The University provides traditional and non-traditional students broad access to the institution’s educational resources. In the delivery of educational programs on campus and beyond, the University draws heavily upon the new instructional and outreach technologies available in the emerging information age.

Auburn University offers assistantships to eligible international graduate students. To be considered for assistantships, students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program, register for at least one course and satisfy the minimum course load specifications of the individual departments. International graduate students on F1 visas cannot hold a greater than 50 percent work appointment. Multiple assistantships for international graduate students cannot add up to more than a 50 percent work appointment.
